Reviews Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch, Black/Orange, Full Size

Works very well and I enjoy using this Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor and the watch. I was looking at some of the other HR monitors, which were either way too advanced for my needs and way to expensive, or didn't have hardly any functions and still too expensive. Watch, chrono, alarm & HRM works like it should. Accurate, reliable, easy to operate.
SHOP 2013 Amazon.com: Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch, Black/Orange, Full Size: Timex: Sports & Outdoors.
Easy to set up and adjustable strap makes wearing it comfortable. Very accurate and keeps track of previous pace and heart rates if you are tracking intervals. This Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor is a very nice middle of the road device that has the potential to meet virtually anyone's fitness tracking needs. No GPS, but I dont need it because I'm not a racer.
  • Mid-sized fitness training watch with heart rate monitor and comprehensive training tools
  • Digital transmission prevents cross-talk with other monitors and electronic equipment
  • Preset a target heart rate zone with six ranges; analyze time in/out of zone, recovery time, peak heart rate, and average heart rate
  • 100-hour chronograph with lap and split; 50-lap memory; 100-hour, 2-mode countdown timer; alarm with 5-minute backup
  • INDIGLO night-light with NIGHT-MODE; owner-replaceable battery; Data Recorder 2 and Data Recorder compatible; water resistant to 100 meters
I have not used this Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch for biking or swimming, but I run roughly 15-20 miles per week, and can honestly say I will never be without my Road Trainer. This is my latest incarnation of Iron Man watch, got it for the HR monitor. That too works great; I can just glance at my wrist to see what HR I am running at.

Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch PROS:
  • Accurate heart beat measurement (just make sure to wet the chest pads a bit with water before wearing)
  • Great tracking and review of workout stats (includes: total minutes of workout, time in heart rate zone, peak heart rate, minimum heart rate, calories burned and recovery time)
  • Easy-to-read display, which is critical when you just want to glance down at the watch before looking back at the road/path
  • Chest strap is very comfortable and stays in place (I'm a lean 5'11" 154lbs, so I can understand if larger guys find the strap snug)
  • Customizable heart rate zone, great for changing the intensity of your workout
  • Really informative manual and heart-health booklet included with this
  • The watch looks nice enough to wear casually
Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch CONS:
  • There seems to be some relay lag between chest strap and watch if I start running too quickly.
  • The calorie counter tends to be somewhat inconsistent, either showing far too many or too few calories burned.
The Timex Ironman monitor is dead-on accurate, which I verified by comparing with a physical count. The review feature allows me to collect meaningful data following my workout. I've used this unit daily for the past two months, and I couldn't be more pleased.

My only regret is not having purchased Timex Ironman Men's Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch sooner! Definitely recommend it! Time will tell how durable it is, but for now, I am very much enjoying it!
